The first-of-its-kind collaboration aims at promoting professional training programs catering to students, working professionals, corporates and entrepreneurs

Bengaluru, February 13, 2020: UL and Manipal Global Education Services (MaGE) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that aims at promoting professional training programs (short-term certificate, long-term diploma and postgraduate diploma programs), catering to students, working professionals, corporates and entrepreneurs in the life sciences industry. The proposed training programs will be offered through Manipal ProLearn School of Pharma for Excellence in Quality.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Suresh Sugavanam, Vice President and Managing Director, UL – South Asia and Mr. Subrat Mohanty, Group President, Manipal Education and Health Group. The collaboration will focus on training and activities to develop job-specific skills in fresh college graduates and support the development of skilled resources for quality assurance, quality control and manufacturing operations in the life sciences industry.

Mr. Suresh Sugavanam, Vice President and Managing Director, UL – South Asia, further highlighted, “MaGE and UL understand the need to develop industry-ready graduates – especially in the Pharma and Life Sciences industry. Under this partnership, we will create customized content on requisite topic areas to facilitate curriculum design and development – a mix of classroom and online learning (eLearning) as per the regulatory guidelines issued by the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) and operations of respective corporate engagements. We will rollout course content and assessments on MaGE’s learning platforms through UL certified trainers.”

Speaking about the collaboration, Mr. Subrat Mohanty, Group President, Manipal Education and Health Group, said, “With this MoU, we will be able to offer a holistic competency program focused on practical knowledge necessary to stay abreast with the latest developments in the life science industry. The issue of skill shortage will be addressed by delivering high-quality content in life sciences to the students.”

The association is a first-of-its-kind for UL in India, wherein they have signed a MoU with a training and assessments organization, MaGE.
