With the advent of smart building technology – heating, cooling, electrical, lighting, fire/life safety and others – systems need monitoring and intercommunication for optimized efficiency and operation. Smart buildings need to have robust infrastructure, enabling greater efficiency in resource use, better living comfort and occupant security. Keeping this objective in mind, UL is organizing a half-day seminar on Safe and Smart Buildings, at Four Points by Sheraton, Ahmedabad on August 5, 2016.
The key focus of the seminar is to spread awareness on the need to use safer products in the buildings and adhere to fundamentals for achieving sustainability targets, fire safety norms for building safety and energy efficiency. The event is aimed at the Built environment industry that revolves around architects, MEP consultants and builders’ community in Ahmedabad. We will also have building material manufacturers learning about rising interest in green certification.
Mr. J T Akhani, Director, GEDA and Mr. Gautam Shah, Mayor, Ahmedabad, Municipal Corporation will be inaugurating the event. There will be discussions on smart energy in smart buildings and development of a compliance mechanism for solar in buildings. In addition, panel discussions on the “Importance of Green Product Certifications for Smart Infrastructure” and Short Circuit the “only” reason for all fires are on the agenda.
