Lighting Requirements for Indoor Environment Quality: Get Insights into Standards and Compliance Strategies
UL, in collaboration with Indian Society of Lighting Engineers (ISLE), is organizing a technical seminar to address lighting aspects of Indoor Environment Quality (IEQ) requirements. The event will be hosted at The Lalit Mumbai on November 16 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Lighting plays a critical role in sustainable buildings. It enhances comfort and productivity in workplaces and living spaces. Additionally, it significantly improves energy efficiency and reduces life-cycle environmental impact. The seminar focuses on technologies and processes that make this possible. Eminent industry experts, Prof. Vishal Garg, who co-authored the ISHRAE 10001:2016 standard and Mr. Anil Valia, Lighting Designer & Educator, will elucidate the standards, parameters and methods to ensure compliance.
They will discuss threshold values of IEQ parameters, specifications of instruments to be used, measurement methods, measurement reporting formats and evaluation using reported values. The sessions will shed light on lighting-comfort parameters like illuminance level, lighting contrast, uniformity of illuminance, circadian lighting design (equivalent melanopic lux or EML), etc.
The Indian Society of Lighting Engineers (ISLE) is a professional body with scientists, engineers, architects, academicians, researchers, designers and others interested in lighting issues as its members. ISLE is affiliated to International Commission on Illumination (CIE) and shares association with many government bodies, including Bureau of Indian Standards and Bureau of Energy Efficiency.
