UL, in association with CII (The Confederation of Indian Industry), is organizing a one-day workshop on Standards and Certification for enhancing the export competitiveness of Indian SMEs specializing in pharmaceutical, electronic, electrical and engineering products. The event is scheduled for August 4, 2015 at the CII House in Ahmedabad.

“Zero Defect – Zero Effect” is an initiative proposed under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to manufacture products with zero defect, in terms of quality and environmental impact. It is an effort under the “Make in India” umbrella.

Standards and Certification is one of the ways “Zero Defect, Zero Effect” manufacturing. The workshop has been designed and organized to create an understanding about enhancing customer experience through standards implementation, how standardization can improve business outcomes, and understanding global compliance requirements. The workshop will also demonstrate how industries can economize through standardization and certification.
