The Indian Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued minimal technical requirements for solar photovoltaic (SPV) systems to be deployed under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM). These requirements include the international standards with which SPV components and systems must comply if they are to be installed in India.

UL is the first laboratory in India accredited to test to MNRE requirements for PV components and systems.  There are standards and requirements specified by MNRE under the JNNSM and UL can test all the below products offer quick turn-around time. UL’s expert team can test any PV component or system to any MNRE/JNNSM requirement.

UL’s testing laboratory in Bangalore is the only one approved by MNRE to test various components such as PV modules, solar inverters, charge controllers and solar lighting systems. Our facilities have also been approved by other government agencies like Tamil Nadu Energy Development Authority (TEDA), Research Design and Standards Organization of Indian Railways (RDSO) and the Indian Telecom Engineering Centre (TEC).
